Acer Iconia A100 Review by 3G.co.uk

Feature set summary for Acer Iconia A100 review

This is a Wi-Fi-only device, so you may want to look at a more expensive alternative. Also, there isn't much in the way of onboard apps, so you'll need to download your own choices. However, it does a neat job of things such as contacts and email and has usable front and rear-facing snappers - for a price of around £250.

Style and handling summary for Acer Iconia A100 review

The A100 is quite heavy but has a neat shape that allows it to fit inside a jacket pocket

Battery power summary for Acer Iconia A100 review

You should get around eight hours from a full charge, which is fine if you're running apps such as Skype or logging into Twitter, but for power-hungry tasks such as viewing videos, the power will drain far quicker.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Reduces Its Indian Prices

Asus has decided to cut down its Eee Pad Transformer’s price in India, following the footsteps of Motorola XOOM.

The company has not revealed their intentions behind the reduction in price. The Transformer was introduced with the market price of Rs 33,000 but, the company has decided to reduce the price to Rs. 29,622. Even XOOM had brought down its price to nearly 30,000.

Transformer and XOOM both will be available at almost the same price, as the former will be available in 16 GB WI-Fi Edition and the latter has 32 GB storage place.

Soon Transformer 2 is to be out in the market and price reduction of the first version could be due to the upcoming entry. Also, in the global market the company had reduced the price of Transformer by $350.

HTC Flyer and Motorola Xoom prices are slashed

TWO IPAD RIVALS , the HTC Flyer and Motorola Xoom tablets have had their prices slashed by several retailers.

Although the tablets haven't seen the same deep price cuts as HP's Touchpad, which was reduced to around $100 last week and is now sold out, the Flyer can be picked up for £150 less at Carphone Warehouse.

During Carphone Warehouse's '10 day dealathon' the HTC Flyer will cost £449 for the 3G and WiFi 32GB version, a £150 price reduction. Meanwhile the 16GB WiFi only Flyer will also be reduced by £150 to £329.

Amazon had smaller reductions, with the Flyer reduced to £539 from £599 for the 32GB model.

Motorola Xoom and 3G support

I live in Lebanon and currently 3G is not available here until late October. So there's nothing I can do to test it. Plus, Xoom doesn't support a phone line which is a downer. I just want to make sure that when 3G arrives here, I could use it on my tablet otherwise I'm gonna have to take it back and get another one that supports 3G. But the reseller told me that I have nothing to worry about, I don't know if he was being sincere or just selling me lies.

BEST DEALS: Wi-fi Motorola XOOM now down to £329 » Eurodroid

This is exactly what we want from android tabs, imo anyway.

iPads will always stay at roughly the same price, christ the original one is still silly money. With the entrance into the market from the bigger companies all selling standardised systems in the same niche comes the ability for the market to attenuate their prices.

So, thankfully, we’ll all get to have some very capable devices very soon for a very reasonable price.

Especially once kal-el comes out and we get generation 2 android tabs running ICS and quad cores.

Tablet comparison » HTC Jetstream vs. Motorola Xoom

Are you looking for just the right tablet and are wondering which one to choose? HTC has recently unveiled its new addition to the evergrowing tablet market, the 10-inch Jetstream. It packs really good specs but is also priced above the average. How does it compare to the older Motorola Xoom, which has been available for some time now? Let’s take a look at their specs and find out.

First of all, what can be said about their design ? For starters, the HTC Jetstream comes in a stylish Shimmering Silver color, but it is not the slimmest tablet around, at 13mm in thickness, nor the lightest – 709 grams. The Motorola Xoom, on the other hand, is not far, having a thickness of 12.9mm and weighing 730 grams. The difference between the two devices in terms of size is almost unnoticeable, so it’s pretty much a tie.

Acer Iconia A100 Review by 3G.co.uk
Performance is pretty smooth thanks to the dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 chip under the hood (the same as that found on the Motorola Xoom and Galaxy Tab). You are not immune from a few force closes though. Acer has performed a neat trick by bring a seven-inch
