I am looking at replacing my laptop with a tablet such as the Motorola Xoom or the Acer Iconia A500 but i would like to buy a bluetooth keyboard and be able to type papers and print them on the tablet.
There are apps to create, edit, and view many types of documents (some cost), but I think you'll have trouble finding a way to print it. I know google docs has a remote print function of some sort, but I think you still need a computer in between.
Hi, I was thinking about buying a tablet. But the thing is, I can't decide! I am stuck between the Asus Eee pad, the Motorola xoom, and the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1. I am leaning toward the ee pad because
Sorry about the apple fanboys. I know they always say for what would you do to change "X product" they always say "make it an ipad 2". Back to the question. I would definnitely recommend the transformer. It has an IPS display like

The XOOM was, of course, the first tablet to run Google’s official tablet OS. If you buy it later this month, you’ll get it with Honeycomb 3.0, but an immediate upgrade to 3.1 is available, which includes the software necessary to enable the XOOM’s SD card reader.
The XOOM has an NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and a 10.1-inch 1280×800 widescreen HD display. HDMI out allows you to hook the XOOM up to your HDTV and a 5MP rear-facing shooter captures 720p video, while the 2MP front-facing shooter enables video chats using Google Talk.
The XOOM has been blessed with the Android Market and supports Adobe Flash Player which is downloadable from the store. Other features include a gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, accelerometer and adaptive lighting. Motorola says you can get about eight to ten hours of video playback from the XOOM and apparently it charges in half the time of some competing tablets. Neat.
With the increasing popularity of tablets in both the home and enterprise, many companies have released their own version of the handheld device — with the exception of Hewlett-Packard, who recently bowed out of the competition by discontinuing its TouchPad range. However, with so many options available, how does one find a tablet that is suitable to their needs?

Finally got my free Xoom Keyboard and Mouse bundle from Motorola. The keyboard looks pretty slick, but the mouse looks like a basic portable mouse.
Pairing them with the Xoom was easy, just turn them on and wait for the lights to start flashing, then scan for devices from the Xoom. Once its found them, just pair them.
Android is suprisingly useable with a keyboard/mouse combination. You can double click on things, scroll through a window using the wheel, but you can also do the normal touch gestures with the mouse by holding the left button down. If it had a set of full desktop type apps such as Microsoft Office or even LibreOffice, it would have made a really good netbook OS.
Motorola Xoom owners who lived in UK could get a free wireless keyboard and mouse. This promotion is only works for buyers who have purchased a Xoom in July, although it may work for Xoom purchased before that. Motorola will check the user agent string of the web browser you are using. This promotion is only works for Xoom with Honeycomb 3.0.1 installed. If your Xoom has been updated to 3.1 or 3.2, they can’t process your request.
However, there is a simple trick that could help you solve those problems. You can use Firefox browser and change the UA string of the firefox browser. Change it with this 3.0.1 Xoom’s string below:

Just the other day I read one of you commenters saying that all tablet makers would rush to pair their devices to keyboards in one way or another, and it looks like Motorola is the next OEM to do just that. They’re set to introduce a folio case that has a bluetooth keyboard embedded that can be paired with the XOOM. The case wraps around the entire device when it’s closed, and although it isn’t exactly a smooth experience like the Transformer, it’s as good as it’s going to get. No word on pricing and availability just yet. [ Droid-Life ]

Having a 10.1 " screen, you would think the Motorola Xoom tablet pc might feel bigger than the 9.8-inch screen-wielding iPad, however it really comes off as a bit smaller. As tablet computers go, the actual Xoom holds the weight in the hips, stretching out the display region out to a more wide-screen-worthy 1,280 x 800-pixel WXGA aspect rate. It is best summed up as a 10" pc tablet and it is among the very best tablet computers to buy anywhere.
This particular broader display, bundled with the landscape-oriented positioning with the Motorola and Verizon art logos, makes the Xoom an all natural fit for usage in a landscape perspective. This is in essence various from your first iPad, which in turn prescribes a portrait alignment with its positioning of the Home key. Naturally, either gadget may reorientate the apps and also Home screens for nevertheless you'd rather hold it, however, the Xoom is evidently made for landscape perspective, while the iPad's design is of course targeted with regard to portrait.
