You can get a Sprint mobile hotspot- that will give you wireless internet access for the Xoom. The cheapest hotspot costs $50 on a 2 year contract and the plans range from $45 to $80, depending on how much usage you need
I'm planning on treating myself to the Verizon Wireless tablet, Motorola Xoom. I see that Motorola is offering the Xoom for $599 for the Wifi+3G WITHOUT PLAN version. My question for you is:
Thinking of buying motorola xoom from the US the 3G version from verizon and wonder if it will in UK with 3G from any provider like vodafone?
First of all the Motorola Xoom, Wi-Fi and 3G version is specifically locked to use within the Verizon Network. It is not a GSM network device and the Verizon 3G version does not use any sim card. It uses CDMA Network. It will not work in the UK.
Yes. A new Xoom 3G runs about $799. Even the WiFi-only version starts at $499

I live in Lebanon and currently 3G is not available here until late October. So there's nothing I can do to test it. Plus, Xoom doesn't support a phone line which is a downer. I just want to make sure that when 3G arrives here, I could use it on my tablet otherwise I'm gonna have to take it back and get another one that supports 3G. But the reseller told me that I have nothing to worry about, I don't know if he was being sincere or just selling me lies.
Verizon stated the update was officially coming soon on the 2nd with updates to the support page shown in the link so things are finally official. Users should be able to check for updates right on the device from the settings>about tablet>check for updates tab and the update will start.

With official 7″ device support, zoom-able applications and full SD support things are looking good. Now all these Xoom owners need to finally be upgraded to the 4G LTE that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE is enjoying.
Xoom owners start hitting that update button as it should be appearing any time now.
...Mode that gives users a new way to view fixed-sized apps on larger devices. The new mode provides a pixel-scaled alternative to the standard UI stretching for apps that are not designed to run on larger screen sizes, such as on tablets. The new mode is accessible to users from a menu icon in the system bar, for apps that need compatibility support. Media sync from SD card On devices that support an SD card, users can now load media files directly from the SD card to apps that use them. A system facility makes the files accessible to apps from the system media store.
People complain that their device isn’t getting updated or that the XOOM still doesn’t have LTE. I don’t get it. When carriers/manufacturers promise something by a certain date I treat it just like a promise from a car dealer.
