How can I clean dried ink from a KOH-I-NOOR Technical pen?
Feb 19, 2007 by kinssr | Posted in Hobbies & Crafts
There is a special pen cleaning solvent sold where they have the pens. It does not always work on dried ink. You can also try alcohol and just soaking in good old distiled water. The problem is once the ink has dried compleatly it can be a real pain in

What are the pros and cons (quality, quality of work, expense, etc. ) of having a Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph Technical Pen Set?
I know they
I absolutely loved the Koh-I-Noor pens until each and every one of them clogged up and could not be cleaned even with the ultrasonic water bin at the art store--so my expensive set ($40 on sale, normally $60) was useless.
Microns are nice

The biggest advantage over the Microns is that with careful cleaning and use, the Rapidographs will last, figuratively, forever. Any parts that do break or wear, can be replaced, without haveing to buy an entire pen each time the ink runs out. If any

KOH-I-NOOR Rapidograph Pen System.. Cleaning?

Besides the Rapido-Eze Cleaner or Ultrasonic Cleaner, is there anything else I can use to clean my pens? Something around the house perhaps?
Also, is the Pressure-Bulb Cleaning Syringe absolutely
The pressure bulb can be helpful, but it's not necessary.
Soak the pens in warm water to which you have added a bit of dish detergent and ammonia. Soak them until the wire and weight move when you shake them. (The ink is more soluble

What are easier to clean/maintain Koh-I-Noor or Rotring Rapidographs?

I know that both of these pens are made by the same company but why else would they make 2 separate brands if there weren't some differences? I am just wondering what the main differences between the 2

(6 diggs) Why You Used to Have to Use #2 Pencils With Scantron Forms
Oct 06, 2010 from awesometastic1(Vacca Foeda Media) in Offbeat
Today I found out why you used to have to use #2 pencils when using scantron forms.
Now, you might be saying, Used to? Dont you still have to? It turns out, despite what pretty much all teachers will tell you, not really. Modern scantron systems are quite high-tech, using image sensors and sophisticated image processing algorithms. These algorithms can even pick out which oval has the strongest mark. So if your test is being processed by one of these newer scantron systems, you could fill out...
I recently got one of these. I am an artist who specializes in stippling. This was among the cheapest rapidographs I have ever purchased. The thing leaks ink, the box was broken new and the nib is bent. I contacted the seller, who directed me to the manufacturer. I would have to pay to ship it back myself; I think I'll just buy a better pen (it's really not worth my time to drive to the post office, package it, possibly insure it, buy stamps for it, and wait a month for another one.) Anyway, it looks really pretty in the picture.

I’ll start by saying I don’t use this pen for drafting. I love to write with this pen because the lines get really dark, are extremely consistent, and the feel of writing with it is very satisfying, like a sharp pencil or a fountain pen.
These pens do require you to keep it at a roughly 80-90 degree angle to maintain ink flow, but I don’t mind that.
I also don’t like to use the Koh-I-Noor Technical Pen Ink. It clogs the pen quickly and regularly. Black India Fountain Pen Ink almost never clogs it, and is still very dark and doesn’t soak through paper.
With minor maintenance and the right ink, this pen will last you forever.

Koh-I-Noor’s Rapidograph Technical Pens ($33-39) are remarkably versatile pens that handle like a pencil, moving in all directions without snagging or digging into the drawing surface. Point sizes, ranging from very fine to very broad, are capable of achieving an engraver’s perfection, a loose sketching style or a finely detailed pointillist technique. All pens come with tips that can be cleaned and replaced if damaged. These pens are the best pens made on the market today for graphic artists.
