Can I transfer video files from my computer to the touchpad? what if I cant get an internet connection does it work? if I want to get ebooks do they cost anything and how do you pay? If you can answer
Video - yes you can, though you need to make sure that you actually have the correct software to play the video using the tablet.

Ebooks cost money you will pay with a credit card, you can transfer files, it will work not connected to Internet to paly games and other non Internet tasks, it basically is the same as an ipad

Ive asked this and People keep thinking i meant from a Pc.im talking about the device itself. Can i download mP3s?Videos? Etc?? And is their a HP touchpad App for that?? no on a PC!!!!

i got 200 bucks for my birthday!!! :DD i really want to get a tablet i saw the hp touchpad was 100 dollars but i also heard that amazon is making a tablet. should i wait or get the touchpad?!?
I am a long time webos fan but I had some misgivings about dropping 600 on a product that had such mixed reviews. After visiting best buy and trying out the ipad2 and xoom, it really does come down to the elegance that is the webos card multitasking.

The same can't be said for stateside Best Buy, however. As of today, Best Buy in the U.S. was showing standard pricing . And anecdotal reports in the U.S. seem to bear this out.
Of course, consumers may pause even at these prices: You're buying into a defunct HP hardware platform. That said, there was a very limited production run of the TouchPad and it may have value as a novelty item, right next to an IBM PCjr.
Update, August 20, 9 a.m. PDT: HP's U.S. site is now showing the TouchPad for $99 and $149 , though it appears to be out of stock as of Saturday. Other retailers such as Target are also showing it out of stock.

Ultimately the goal is to create software that will allow users to boot both webOS and CyanogenMod or other operating systems. This won’t be the first time users have figured out how to run an alternate operating system on the tablet. You can already install Ubuntu Linux on the HP TouchPad .
The CyanogenMod developers aren’t ready to announce when the software will be available to the public — and are only showing off the progress so far because they’re trying to drum up a few more tablets for testing purposes . They’re willing to pay for them, but since TouchPads are so hard to come by these days, they’re looking for help from the community.
