Why is my hp dv6 touchpad not working?
my hp pavilion dv6 3160us trackpad/touchpad is not working downloaded new synaptics drivers and restarted it still not working , went into mouse/devices and it didn't show up on the list , after I Installed
It sounds like the touchpad either went bad or may have become disconnected underneath the keyboard. If you are handy with a screwdriver, you can probably fix/replace it yourself. There are many guides out there and they are pretty cheap.

Take your laptop directly to HP Service Center and ask them to repair it in front of your eyes and get it back that day itself...

As far as I know I don't think so. I myself have dv7 and I think that they are pretty similar. Go to their support page and see if they have some program like Logitech has it's Setpoint for assigning functions to keys. If that doesn't work. Take a sponge,

Finally, after days of teasing folks here in Singapore, HP has revealed that it is selling the TouchPad at hugely-discounted prices of S$118 (16GB version) and S$188 (32GB version) from tomorrow.
The fire sale will happen at the Comex tech bazaar starting tomorrow at Suntec Singapore. One hundred units of each version of the tablet will be available each day at the HP booth during the four-day event, and each person is allowed to buy just one unit.
HP Singapore had said last week that it would separately allow refunds for users who had already pre-ordered the tablets, which was supposed to have gone on sale here for S$699.

HP just announced the second-gen model, a refresh that includes some spec bumps, as well as a new design and some software add-ons (because we loved the bloatware load so much in the original!).
