I just bought my dad one for his birthday and he wants to return it because he does not want to pay the $40 data plan. I thought that you could just use it around the house using the wifi but i am not
Not at T-Mobile. At&t offers it with optional data just like they do on the iPad as does Verizon but it'll cost about $500-$550 for the Tab.

Should I buy the IPAD 2 or the T-Mobile Galaxy tab?
May 18, 9659 by Prettychic | Posted in Cell Phones & Plans
Now the Ipad has lots of apps that I would have to buy (so I have heard) The Galaxy more free apps are provided.
Hola.
It Depends on What your looking For.
But I would Recommend The iPad 2, for these Reasons,
It has a 10 hour battery (10 hours real time, playing games and movies, still 10 hours)
The app Store had around 300,000

Compare prices. Then compare which one would be more worth it. As far as apps and price and all.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 with European T-Mobile LTE shown off at ...
by Evan Selleck
For those of you under the Magenta flag in Europe, then you’re probably excited about getting your hands on the latest and greatest T-Mobile-branded LTE-equipped devices. Over at IFA in Berlin, the carrier was more than happy to show off some of those devices, which include a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 able to access the high-speed network. Unfortunately, in-depth details regarding the device are in short order, but Engadget was able to glean just enough to whet the appetite.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a very small “LTE” logo on the back of the device, but it’s certainly a main bullet point to the device’s specifications list. As for other specs, the device will feature 32GB of built-in storage, and the processor is 1.5GHZ of dual-core goodness. It will be running Android 3.2 right out of the box. Good news for European T-Mobile subscribers, that’s for sure.

The hardware itself should prove quite...

I've been put off by tablet-based photography since first using the Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab -- when shooting a pic, it feels like I'm defending myself from flying meatballs with a cafeteria tray during a food fight.
