Dell, Baidu team up to develop tablets, mobile
Dell declined to give a timeline for the launch of the devices, but local media reported on Tuesday, quoting sources, that it may be as early as November.
"I don't think Baidu is targeting the low-end segment of the market, if they are there are plenty of local Chinese vendors they can work with...This could mean that Baidu may have ambitions for the international market because Dell is an international brand which they can leverage," said Sandy Shen, a Shanghai-based research director with Gartner.
Dell's Streak 5 tablet is a five-inch Android-based tablet that was discontinued in the United States last month.
Baidu declined to comment.
The Dell-Baidu partnership is one of several announced recently.

Network isolation… I’ve mentioned it before, right? All jokes aside, it’s one of the corner stones of mobile forensics. Isolation is extremely important in each and every analysis.
While some people choose to go with the simple “Airplane Mode” or even invest in a massive, and expensive, faraday room, I’m here to today to show you some more cost effective options.
eDEC is a company that has made some fairly innovative faraday bags in my opinion. Their “ Black Hole Data Bag ” is a new option that allows you to transport, view, and analyze your evidence whenever and wherever you need to.
The bag offers a couple of nice features such as a view screen that allows you to see your evidence and even manipulate the device inside the bag to enable your backup level of protection, i.e. Airplane Mode. The bag comes in a kit featuring two cradles that will hold your device in place while you manipulate the screen (conductive included) using an included magnetic stylus. It’s important to use the cradle though as the faraday mesh can interact with the screen if they come in direct contact. In my testing of the stylus I was able to maneuver an Android swipe passcode and even an iOS complex passcode.
