You can use the front facing camera to take pics as well. Once you've launched the camera app, press menu > Front Facing Camera and it will switch.
As for video-chat, the only one that I have found to work with the FFC is ooVoo.

According to an analyst who spoke with Reuters , Dell may be “grasping at straws” in an attempt to breathe life into its tablet business. The Dell Streak 5 tablet has been discontinued in the States, but a Dell spokesperson said that the company “has a partnership with Baidu [and] the Streak 5 tablet, so the partnership will be in that space.” It’s not clear whether that means we should expect a Chinese version of the Dell Streak 5 or just another similar minitab.
Either way, Dell and Baidu will face some strong competition in China. Lenovo has seen great success in the Chinese market over the past few years, and Apple has an almost terrifyingly strong presence there. Clearly unaffected by the lack of consumer traction that killed the Streak 5, Korean tech giant Samsung has finally lifted the lid on its mysterious, much talked about Note to reveal a very similar form factor but markedly different features.

Dell Streak 5 challenged by new Samsung Galaxy Note
One of the most interesting features of the Note (and the reason why I'm writing this) is the 5.3-inch screen.
It is an interesting size for a major smartphone manufacturer like Samsung to have on one of their devices because it is generally considered too large to be a smartphone and too small to be a tablet. Samsung has solved this issue by calling its latest Android handset a "Smart Mobile Device" while still maintaining "smartphone portability." Obviously, if the Galaxy Note maintains "smartphone portability" then the Streak 5 does too, and maybe we could stop calling the Streak a tab-phone, tablet smartphone, etc. Maybe we should just call it a "Smart Mobile Device" and potentially re-categorize it altogether.

China is a goldmine in terms of potential consumers. With over 900 million mobile subscribers, China is becoming one of the fastest growing tablet markets, as well. I received a copy of an internal email about this a while ago, and now it's official. The Dell Streak has been given EOL (end of life) status and is no longer available, at least in the Americas.
Sales were below the company's expectations in this region, and as you may have guessed when the pocket tablet became "temporarily out of stock" at Dell.com , all inventory was actually put on hold over a month ago. At that time, remaining units were screened and later delivered to fulfill outstanding orders and repairs. Once the entire stock was depleted, it was determined that the device would join the EOL graveyard and no longer be supported or available for purchase.
