How do I get rid of google account on my dell streak?
My dad gave me his dell streak but it still has his gmail account with everything attached (calendars, contacts, etc) and ive tried to unsync the account but it always comes up with a notice saying that
just go ahead and smash it ill send you a iphone so you dont have worry about it

Yes you can use your Dell only like a phone and use Google services in WiFi, turn off 3G settings.
But Android without an internet plan is like a Ferrari used only in week-end because you can't but oil all week ..

what kind of connector do you need fro the dell streak?
I was wonder what you call the connector cable for the dell streak? It looks very similar to the Iphone but the Iphone led will not go in and I am looking for a spare but not wanting to pay £40.
It's called the USB Cable/Charger or the 30-pin connector. This item is exclusive to the Dell device and there aren't any generics out yet that I am aware of. Your best bet will be to contact Dell to purchase a new connector if yours is lost or no longer

Dell and Baidu Team Up to Produce Tablets and Mobile Phones
Dell showed strong interest in Baidu’s new operating platform, especially because the technology will be related to tablet devices.
“We have a partnership with Baidu and you know we have the Streak 5 tablet, so the partnership will be in that space,” said a Dell spokesperson.
In addition, Dell indicated it will also cooperate with Baidu on mobile handsets.
Although seeing its first quarter sales grow by 22 percent in the Chinese market this year, Dell is still faced with both internal and external challenges on the mobile and tablet front. The company has just launched its 10-inch tablet Dell Streak 10 Pro in China this summer, while around the same time it discontinued the sale of its Dell Streak 5-inch phone-tablet hybrid in the U.S. market. The product was widely criticized for its outdated operating system.

One of the most interesting features of the Note (and the reason why I'm writing this) is the 5.3-inch screen.
It is an interesting size for a major smartphone manufacturer like Samsung to have on one of their devices because it is generally considered too large to be a smartphone and too small to be a tablet. Samsung has solved this issue by calling its latest Android handset a "Smart Mobile Device" while still maintaining "smartphone portability." Obviously, if the Galaxy Note maintains "smartphone portability" then the Streak 5 does too, and maybe we could stop calling the Streak a tab-phone, tablet smartphone, etc. Maybe we should just call it a "Smart Mobile Device" and potentially re-categorize it altogether.

I've said it before, and it is worth repeating. A tablet, like the iPad, is not a necessity. A cell phone these days is. If you want a tablet, you don't need to be tied to a carrier/contract I you don't want, and are free to pick the best on the market, not the best on you network, or the free or buy one get one free phones. If Apple had not been ties to AT&T exclusivity for so long, I think android's rise would have been slower. I am equally sure Apple ha permanently lost forever a fraction of those who tried android while they awaited the iPhone on their network. . .
