Best Buy Cuts RIM PlayBook Price By Up To $150 - Update
(RTTNews) - Consumer electronics retailer Best Buy Co., Inc. (BBY: News ) on Thursday slashed the price for Research In Motion Ltd.'s (RIMM: News ,RIM.TO: News ) BlackBerry PlayBook tablet computer by up to $150 for the Labor Day weekend.
The Big-box retailer advertised on its website that the 64 GB and 32 GB versions of PlayBook, which usually sell for $699.99 and $599.99, respectively, are both available for $549.99. This amounts to a saving of $150 for the 64 GB version and a more modest discount of $50 for the 32 GB version.
Richfield, Minnesota.-based Best Buy is offering the 16 GB version for $449.99, also representing a $50 discount compared to the original price of $499.99. The deals run from Thursday through Monday.

Sony unveils 24-inch multitouch 3D Vaio L all-in-one Windows 7 PC
The IFA 2011 reveals are starting to roll in, and Sony’s been busy sharing the latest additions to its product lines. Joining the company’s Vaio line-up is the new 24″ Vaio L all-in-one, which features both multitouch input and 3D capabilities.
Powered by the latest Intel Core processors (the specific CPUs have yet to be announced), the new Vaio features 8GB of DDR 3 RAM at 1333MHz, 1TB SATA hard drive, Blu-Ray/DVD +/- RW combo drive ( a full Blu-Ray burner will be available in certain configurations), 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, 2 USB 3.0 and 3 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output and input, HD webcam, built-in speakers, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a pair of rechargeable active shutter 3D glasses. During its most recent earnings announcement , RIM said it had shipped 500,000 PlayBooks. At that time, the mobile device maker also announced it had missed revenue targets by hundreds of millions of dollars and that it would start layoffs during the second quarter.
