(5.7 Percent) and Symbian (1.9 percent).”
Although RIM’s shares went down few months back, with the launch of seven new smartphones RIM is expected to climb back up in days to come. The new models include BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930, BlackBerry Torch 9810 and BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860. Even Motorola has not seen any major boost after the launch of Motorola Atrix in January 2011. Motorola only introduced a few major smartphones like Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Droid 3 and Motorola Photon 4G. But with the launch of Droid Bionic Motorola expects to gain back the market share from top-end smartphones.
The BlackBerry Torch 9850 is the CDMA version of RIM’s second generation Torch smartphone. As of now Torch 9850 will be available online from Verizon Wireless starting with September 8 and will be available in stores from September 15. The phone retails at for $199.99 when purchased with new two-year contracts. However, the BlackBerry Torch 9850 going to Sprint is available for $149.99 with contract. And the phone without contract is priced at $599.99.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 (T-Mobile)
18.05.99
The Bold 9900 is a tri-band HSPA 14.4 (850/1700/2100 MHz) and quad-band EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) device with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. That means it works on 3G networks both here and abroad. Note that while T-Mobile claims this is a 4G BlackBerry, it really isn’t, because it only supports HSPA 14.4. Expect download speeds averaging 3 Mbps, slower than the 5 Mbps and greater averages we've seen from truly 4G, HSPA+ 21 devices like the Samsung Galaxy S 4G ($99, 4 stars).
Inexplicably, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 has no Wi-Fi calling ability. That's unusual for a T-Mobile phone, and a disappointment. I also had very poor 3G signal reception in a marginal T-Mobile area in Massachusetts, where the Samsung Exhibit 4G ($29.99, 3.5 stars) had no trouble finding 3G - so Wi-Fi calling would have been welcome.

BlackBerry Torch 9850 review

Hardware

When I went to Toronto in early August to see RIM’s brand new family of BlackBerry smartphones , I walked away most impressed with the Torch 9850. It was thin, I loved the hardware buttons, the onscreen keyboard seemed to work well and I appreciated the rounded edges. After spending a week with the Torch 9850 and the Bold 9930 side by side, I’ve found myself gravitating to the Bold 9930. The Torch 9850 clearly has a high-end design, but it’s not as polished and luxurious feeling as the Bold 9930.
