I was planning to purchase an Apple SmartCover and an amCase back cover for my iPad2 when I found this case. At $20 it was less than half the price of what the SmartCover with the separate back cover would have cost me. It works as advertised as it turns the iPad2 on and off when the cover is opened or closed. Although it adds a little weight and thickness to the iPad, I appreciate the added protection provided by the case. Unlike the SmartCover, the case’s cover does not rest directly on the screen which should minimize dust deposited by the back side of the cover (I would think that the back of the SmartCover will pick up dust and that dust could scratch the screen because the back rests directly on the screen when closed). My sister-in-law was so impressed with this case that she ordered one although she is already using a SmartCover.
