Acer Iconia A501 Tab Available for Pre-Orders
AT&T had earlier announced that the company will introduce the 4G Acer Iconia A501 Tab within the year. This version of the device was similar to the Wi-Fi only version although it had an integrated 4G radio. Following the announcement by Acer of the availability of the tablet within the year, no other information was released by the company as it has yet to enter the market. But Amazon recently posted a pre-order page as it gave indications that the 4G Acer Iconia A501 Tab may soon enter the US market.
The 4G Acer Iconia A501 Tab was listed as a 16GB device with a price tag of around $500. Some observers have indicated that with the listed price of the device, it would make the 4G Acer Iconia A501 Tab among the most reasonably-priced ten-inch 4G tablet that runs on the Honeycomb Android OS.

Acer hat damit begonnen, das Update auf Android 3.2 für das Iconia Tab A501 zu verteilen. Android 3.1 hatte Acer für dieses Honeycomb-Tablet nie angeboten. Anders ist es beim Iconia Tab A500, für das Ende Juli 2011 Android 3.1 erschienen ist. Das Iconia Tab A501 besitzt im Unterschied zum A500er Modell zusätzlich ein UMTS-Modem, damit überall das mobile Internet genutzt werden kann.
Das Update auf Android 3.2 erhalten Besitzer eines Iconia Tab A501 drahtlos und können es vorzugsweise per WLAN installieren. Ein Computer ist nicht erforderlich, um das Update einzuspielen. Die Updateverteilung erfolgt in mehreren Schüben, so dass es einige Tage dauern kann, bis Android 3.2 bei allen Gerätebesitzern angekommen ist.

The tablet, however, wasn't out on the show floor of CTIA this week like it was last month at Mobile World Congress. That's because the devices on display there were running FroYo, and the model AT&T announced this week will be running Gingerbread.
Still, Nvidia gave me a little rundown today of some of the graphical advantages the 1GHz Dual core Tegra 2 processor will provide, even if it was on the FroYo version of the Iconia Tab and not the Gingerbread version.

Value for money, I would recommend the wifi only version (a500). Unbelievable price . You can use your symbian, android, or iphone to tether wifi.
My colleague bought his for P15K only. He has a friend who owns a store.
Of course there are SOME compromises: chunky build, weight, mediocre battery life, and poor sunlight legibility.
But for the price , puwede na talaga. It trumps the Samsung Galaxy 10.9 & 8.9 with the micro-SD expansion.
I think the Asus eeepad is still a better buy. Unless you need the 3G connectivity of the new variant. The eeePad IPS screen is the key differentiator, the optional, but expensive BUT way cool keyboard is neat as well. The Galaxy 10.1 is great but no MicroSD expansion is a big downer.
